As a member of the Spanish Agro-nutrients Manufacturers Association (AEFA), BRANDT Europe has collaborated in the donation of 90,000 euros for the purchase of masks, which the association delivered to farm workers at the start of the seasonal fruit harvesting campaign.
With this solidarity initiative, AEFA and its members acknowledge the work of thousands of farmers and field workers, who continue working to ensure the supply of fresh fruit to the population, despite the state of alarm in place. This approved material, the purchase and distribution logistics of which was managed through TRAGSA, with the mediation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has all the protection and safety guarantees established by the Ministry of Health. Furthermore, it will be distributed by Agro-food Cooperatives of Spain, via its regional federations and cooperatives, to workers involved in fruit harvesting in various regions of the country. Stone fruit harvesting will take place in the coming weeks, mainly in Andalusia, Murcia, Valencia, Extremadura, Aragon and Catalonia. The masks will be manufactured by the Santa Bárbara Labour Foundation for Persons with Disabilities (FUSBA), whose staff is comprised of workers with physical, mental and sensory disabilities. The Foundation normally manufactures workwear under the FUSBA brand but, as a result of this health crisis, it has decided to manufacture masks to guarantee their supply where they are most needed.
A few days ago, BRANDT Europe also donated 1,000 masks and 1,000 doses of hand sanitizer to Carmona City Council to fight against coronavirus.
